MEN'S HEALTH – with Kylie
STRONGER TODAY FOR A HEALTHIER TOMORROW
MEN'S HEALTH – STRONGER TODAY FOR A HEALTHIER TOMORROW
Your Health • Your Strength • Your Future
We spend so much time looking after everything and everyone else, but how often do we give our own health the same attention?
For many men, looking after their health can take a back seat to work, family responsibilities and the demands of everyday life.
We push through tiredness, ignore the occasional ache, put off health checks and tell ourselves we'll get around to it when things settle down.
But looking after your health isn't about waiting until something goes wrong. It's about making small, practical changes today that can make a meaningful difference to your health and quality of life tomorrow.
At Holistic Nutritional Health Care & Hypnotherapy (HNHC), I provide personalised, evidence-based support for men's physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Through my VitalMen Pro approach, I combine Clinical Nutrition, Strategic Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy to help men better understand their health, address challenges and develop sustainable habits that fit their lifestyle.
What Areas of Men's Health Can We Support?
Weight Management & Metabolic Health
Supporting sustainable weight management, healthier eating habits, blood glucose regulation, cholesterol management and reducing cardiovascular risk factors.
The focus is on improving overall metabolic health rather than simply concentrating on the number on the scales.
Stress, Anxiety & Mental Wellbeing
Helping men recognise patterns of overthinking, emotional overwhelm, negative self-talk and unhelpful responses while developing practical strategies to manage everyday pressures.
We also recognise the importance of social connection, relationships and emotional wellbeing, particularly for men who may find it difficult to talk openly about their challenges.
Gut Health & Digestion
Individualised nutritional support for concerns such as bloating, digestive discomfort, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and bowel health.
Understanding the relationship between nutrition, lifestyle, stress and digestive function can help identify practical ways to support gut health.
Sleep, Fatigue & Energy
Exploring lifestyle, nutrition, sleep habits and stress-related factors that may contribute to poor sleep, low energy and fatigue.
Persistent fatigue, snoring or excessive daytime sleepiness may also indicate an underlying medical condition, including obstructive sleep apnoea, which requires appropriate assessment.
Heart Health & Prevention
Supporting healthier blood pressure, cholesterol and metabolic health through evidence-based dietary and lifestyle strategies, alongside appropriate medical care.
Heart health is particularly important as men age, with high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol often developing without noticeable symptoms.
Testosterone & Hormonal Health
Testosterone plays an important role in men's sexual function, muscle mass, bone health and overall wellbeing.
Symptoms such as persistent fatigue, reduced libido, changes in muscle strength or sexual difficulties can have several possible causes, including sleep disturbances, high blood pressure, stress, medications and hormonal conditions.
Nutrition, physical activity, adequate sleep and maintaining a healthy weight can support general hormonal health. Suspected testosterone deficiency should be assessed by a GP through appropriate clinical evaluation and blood testing.
Sexual Health & Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is more common than many men realise and can sometimes be an early indicator of cardiovascular or metabolic concerns.
Nutrition, physical activity, stress management and other lifestyle factors may play a supportive role.
Sexual wellbeing also includes confidence, intimacy, relationships, communication and changes in sexual desire.
Persistent erectile difficulties should always be discussed with a GP to identify possible underlying medical causes and appropriate treatment options.
Prostate Health
Understanding prostate health becomes increasingly important with age.
Changes in urination, including increased frequency, difficulty starting or a weaker stream, should be discussed with a GP.
Men aged 50–69 can discuss the benefits and limitations of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing with their GP, with earlier discussions appropriate for some men at increased risk.
Nutrition and lifestyle can support general health but cannot replace prostate assessment or established medical treatment.
Muscle Strength, Bone Health & Healthy Ageing
Maintaining muscle strength and bone health is essential for healthy ageing, mobility, independence and quality of life.
Adequate protein, resistance exercise, appropriate calcium and vitamin D intake, and regular physical activity all contribute to maintaining physical function.
As men age, the focus should be on maintaining strength, energy and the ability to continue enjoying everyday activities.
Alcohol, Smoking & Unhelpful Habits
Lifestyle habits can significantly influence long-term health.
Excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and other behaviours can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, sleep disturbances and metabolic conditions.
Through practical nutrition guidance and therapeutic support, we can explore the patterns behind unhelpful habits and develop healthier alternatives without judgement.
Where needed, additional medical or specialist support may be recommended.
Men's Health After 45 – Know Your Numbers
As we get older, preventative health becomes increasingly important.
Many common health conditions develop gradually, often without obvious symptoms.
Understanding your individual risk factors and keeping up with recommended health checks can help identify potential concerns earlier.
Five important health numbers worth knowing include:
Blood pressure: An important indicator of cardiovascular health.
Cholesterol: Including LDL cholesterol and other blood lipids relevant to heart health.
Blood glucose or HbA1c: Helping identify diabetes and elevated blood glucose.
Waist circumference: One useful measure when assessing metabolic and cardiovascular risk.
Body weight and weight trends: Considered alongside body composition, health history and other risk factors rather than in isolation.
Men should also discuss appropriate bowel cancer screening, skin checks, prostate cancer screening and other preventative assessments with their GP.
Prevention isn't about looking for something wrong. It's about giving yourself the best opportunity to remain healthy, active and independent.
More Than Just Nutrition – Looking at the Whole Person
Men's health isn't simply about weight, fitness or what you eat.
Stress can influence sleep. Poor sleep can affect appetite, mood and energy. Long working hours can make regular meals and physical activity more challenging.
Emotional wellbeing, relationships, work pressures and lifestyle habits can all influence physical health.
These factors often overlap, which is why my approach considers the whole person rather than focusing on one concern in isolation.
Together, we explore realistic strategies that work with your lifestyle, not against it.
Understanding the Demands of Working Life
Having spent over 18 years working in the transport and logistics industry, I understand the pressures of long hours, shift work, demanding schedules and balancing work with personal responsibilities.
This experience has helped shape my practical approach to men's health.
While I have a particular interest in supporting men working in transport, logistics and other demanding industries, VitalMen Pro is for all men, regardless of their occupation or stage of life.
Whether you work behind a steering wheel, on a worksite, in an office, run your own business or are enjoying retirement, your health matters.
What Can You Expect During a VitalMen Pro Consultation?
Every man is different, and your health concerns, lifestyle and goals deserve an individual approach.
During your consultation, we take the time to understand your overall health and wellbeing, including:
Your current health concerns and personal goals.
Nutrition, eating habits and digestive health.
Sleep quality, fatigue and energy levels.
Stress, emotional wellbeing and lifestyle pressures.
Weight, metabolic health and relevant medical history.
Existing health conditions, medications and relevant pathology results.
Areas where you would like to make positive changes.
From there, we develop a personalised plan that may include nutritional strategies, lifestyle modifications, behavioural support and therapeutic techniques where appropriate.
When concerns require medical investigation or treatment, I encourage collaboration with your GP or other healthcare professionals.
There is no judgement, no unrealistic expectations and no one-size-fits-all approach.
The goal is to help you better understand your health and develop practical, achievable strategies that support long-term wellbeing.
Prevention Is Better Than Waiting for a Problem
Looking after your health doesn't mean you need to overhaul your entire life overnight.
Sometimes, meaningful progress begins with eating a little better, improving sleep, moving more regularly, addressing stress, reducing alcohol consumption or simply having a conversation about something you've been putting off.
Regular health checks, appropriate screening and sustainable lifestyle habits are important parts of maintaining long-term health.
Looking after your health isn't a weakness. It's one of the most worthwhile investments you can make in yourself and the people who matter to you.
